Okavango Delta Budget Lodge

Moremi Crossing Okavango Delta Botswana 2025/26 Specials

DESCRIPTION:
Moremi Crossing, Okavango Delta
Moremi Crossing is a 16 tent camp built on a palm fringed island surrounded by the Moremi's game-rich seasonal floodplains and overlooking Chief's Island. Moremi Crossing is a new style safari camp combining luxury with simplicity. This is a 100% eco-friendly development featuring the latest in solar and waste disposal technology.

The Okavango is an immense river that never meets the sea. Instead, its crystal clear waters spread across the Kalahari Desert, forming Africa's largest wetland wonder. The Delta is an abundant oasis amid the vast plains and pans of the desert that covers most of Southern Africa. Its waterways are a mesh of meandering and intercepting channels, creating a haven for Africa's most celebrated wildlife

Mokoro Excursions
Become part of the bustling river life by easing between the papyrus clad banks on traditional 'mokoro' canoes. These are propelled from the stern by skilled 'poler' guides, allowing the guests to sit back and absorb the scenery. For full day trips, Gunn's Camp prepares delicious picnic lunches which can be enjoyed on a Delta island after an exhilarating bush walk.

Bush Walks
Explore the wilderness on foot under the guidance and education of your own personal guide. Feel your senses ignite as you become part of life in the bush and encounter game without the parameters of a vehicle.

Island Camping
The camp managers will pack your mokoro with basic camping equipment and food so that you can set out with your own personal guide to find an island where you will set up camp. The evening will be spent preparing dinner around the campfire in the company of Africa's nocturnal wildlife. This rustic experience is subject to availability, and must be pre-booked in advance.

Motor-Boat Sunset Cruises
A great way to explore the crystal clear channels of the Boro River. Motor-boat cruises are organised in time to toast the unprecedented African sunsets while drifting on a lagoon in the middle of the Okavango Delta. Watch as the mutating colours are reflected in the smooth waters, disturbed only by dipping swallows or curious hippos. (Gunn's Main Camp only, unless by prior arrangement and subject to delta water levels)

DON'T FORGET:
We can combine this trip with a couple of nights in Moremi or Khwai to experience game drives and a more land based safari.

Start your Okavango Delta Adventure

Dumela! We will meet you at Maun Airport before taking an amazing, chartered flight into the inner Okavango Delta where you will find Moremi Crossing on Ntswi Island. Take in the aerial scenery as you fly over the winding channels of the Okavango (keep an eye out for the wildlife below). On arrival you will take a short 10-minute drive from the runway to the lodge. The staff will then show you around the lodge and have a short safety briefing before departing on your first activity that afternoon. Activities are scheduled depending on animal sightings, water levels, and guest interests. Whether you are winding through the Okavango channels by motorboat, mokoro, game drive, or even a short walking safari, your expert guide will show you the pristine natural surroundings of the Okavango. On your return to camp, you have the chance to take a hot shower and prepare for dinner in the main lodge area. Sit back and relax – Welcome to the Delta
